My goodness me how I have loved Autumn this year, the warm mild hazy days of colour and inspiration has just made me want to be outside and wonder through the beautiful parks of London. Who said London was grey? I have seen beauty like no other this Autumn, pavements are suddenly a sea of oranges, reds and yellows, trees where you stand in wonder and amazement at their beauty. I’ve been looking up, upwards and on wards and travelled through idea after idea…Autumn will always amaze me!!!

This being one of my favourites, another simple but very effective creation, that looks utterly stunning inside your home or outside the front door…and a perfect activity for children to get involved with too.

what you need…

  • leaves, lots of them (you will need more than you think!!!) and preferably the newly fallen ones that haven’t begun to decay
  • metal coat hanger
  • gardening twine

what to do…

  1. collect leaves of all shapes and sizes, although i have been particularly drawn to the maple leaves this Autumn as their colours I think are just stunning
  2. bend your coat hanger into the shape of a circle and much as you can, don’t worry if not perfect as it won’t be seen for leaves when you’ve finished!!!
  3. start threading the leaves onto the wire, being gentle so as not to tear them, and pushing them round until complete
  4. tie the two ends of the coat hanger together with twine and hang up using the hook of the hang
  5. bingo a beautiful autumn wreath…
