what you need…

140g/5oz softened butter
140g/5oz caster sugar
3 eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
125g/4.5oz self raising flour
60g/2.5oz milk chocolate
60g/2.5oz softened butter
85g/3.5oz icing sugar
Pirate cupcake toppers
Electric whisk
Mixing bowl
Cupcake cases
Muffin tray

what to do…

  1. Preheat oven to 190c
  2. Line a muffin tray with 10 paper cases
  3. Put all ingredients for the cakes into a mixing bowl and beat for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the mixture between the cases.
  5. Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes
  6. For the chocolate icing, melt the chocolate in the microwave for 1-2 minutes
  7. Cream butter and icing sugar together, then beat in chocolate and spread on cakes.
  8. Place pirate cupcake toppers on top!!! Enjoy…

then into a little dream adventure…

  • Create an obstacle course!!! Crawl through the tunnel, walk the plank, throw cannons at the shark (water balloons at the inflatable shark!!!)
  • pin the patch on the pirate
  • treasure hunt…search for pirate clues around the house or garden and find hidden pirate treasures
  • coin rubbing for pirate treasure

We had great fun painting and putting together a wooden pirate ship model, that was a present at Christmas…look out for one of these!!! Lots of fun involved and brilliant results if you have some budding pirates in your household…
