This is such a sweet little art activity, and so effective, it can’t help but make you smile!!!
what you need…
- yellow paint
- boggley eyes
- pritt stick
- scissors
- card
- orange card or orange felt tip
- black felt tip
what to do…
- paint your child’s hand with yellow paint or put yellow paint in a tray and let the push their hand into the paint
- make hand prints across the plain card
- wash your child’s hands, before your entire kitchen turns a garish yellow hand print collage!!!
- once the hand prints have dried, using a pritt stick glue the boggley eyes onto each hand print
- either you or your child can cut out some beak shapes with the orange card and glue them on (or use a orange felt tip and draw the beak on)
- with the black felt tip make the legs for the chick…
- so sweet!!!
then into a little dream adventure…
- you can make a variety of hand print spring animals: lambs with white paint, bumblebees with yellow paint and black felt tip stripes, birds…the choice is endless?! what hand print spring animals can you think of?! I would love to see them…
- go down to the farm and see the baby chicks wondering the farm yards…how many can you see?!
- looking at the life cycle of the chicken…
- what sound does a baby chick make!!!
- singing songs such as old macdonald, or chick chick chick chicken…
