smoothie3Every day this week, we have got home from picking up my middle son from nursery, settled into the usual lunch time chat through mouthfuls of ham sandwiches or cherry tomatoes or sausage rolls, with crumbs flying everywhere!!! It’s so hard the rule of ‘not talking with your mouthful,’ when quite literally everything he says is just a little bundle of questions, which i love to hear. You can see his little mind thinking of the next little conquest he wants to achieve.

So this week it has been smoothies and juices, and if we can we will make one of some sort or another. He’s such a curious little soul, asking what if we mix this with that, or something else with that!!! It has at times felt like a juice bar this week, without the juicer or really the expertise to use anything other than my hand held blender that has seen better days and will only blend anything that is particularly soft and most likely going out of date. But that doesn’t stop us, the combinations have been endless and whats great is they can be really. It’s all about exploring and what flavours tickle the taste buds of one little fellow might not another, but its all fun and all worth the adventure….even if every example has to also be poured into a separate cup and placed carefully on dadda’s desk ready for his return from work!!! so funny…

So this is the most obvious of smoothie recipe, ‘Strawberry and Banana’ but seriously, explore! You can’t really go wrong.
