We literally can’t get enough of these totally yummy and easy to make ice lollies in our house, and what’s more they are super healthy too!!! The perfect refreshing snack for any little munchkin… Now all we need is for all this lovely sunshine to last forever!!!

what you need…

  • a banana
  • handful of strawberries
  • handful of blueberries
  • cup of milk
  • knife
  • blender
  • measuring jug
  • ice lolly moulds

what to do…

  1. wash and slice the fruit and place in a measuring jug
  2. pour a cup full of milk onto the fruit
  3. with the bender, blend until all the fruit is smooth
  4. pour the smoothie mixture into the ice lolly moulds
  5. pop in the freezer for a few hours or until completely solid
  6. now its time to eat your ice lollies!!! Yum…what a treat!!!

Then into a little dream adventure…

  • you can also make these just by blending the desired fruit of your choice by creating a fresh fruit juice and then freezing
  • mix and match all sorts of different combinations of fruit, which ones are your favourite?!
  • maybe you are growing some fruit in your garden? or take a visit to the local fruit picking farm, and pick fruit till your hearts content, knowing one option when you’re home is too make these yummy ice lollies!!!
  • whilst picking the fruit, talk about the different textures/colours of the fruit? do they grow on tall bushes or low bushes? is the fruit hard or soft? which is your favourite fruit? does the fruit taste sweet or sour? does the fuit have seeds? are they big or small seeds? so many questions and conversations can be had, even if you are buying your fruit at the supermarket, this is an opportunity for discussion too, asking the same questions and maybe referring to pictures from books or the web when you get home
