A sweet friend of mine, offered me a refreshing glass of water a couple of months back, and in it popped a couple of ice cubes which at second glance had a segment of lemon frozen inside….I thought this was genius!!! not only did it make for a stylish drink but added a delicious twist on a usually, lets face it, boring glass of water!!! It also gave the water such a yummy flavour (that made me immediately think, ‘gin and tonic’ and how this would be the perfect accompaniment ice cube!!!) Alcohol aside, i realised you could go about making a whole range of flavoured ice cubes to pop in your water to quench your thirst in the hot summer months that children would love…
what you need…
- lemons or strawberries or cucumber
- water
- ice trays
- freezer
what you do…
- slice up your chosen fruit or vegetable
- place a segment into each section of the ice tray
- pour water over the ice tray till it is full
- place carefully in the freezer until completely frozen
- add to your water for a refreshing flavour…
