So we are all beginning to get a little bit excited to say the least about Christmas…it is without a doubt the time to be busy makingĀ and creating. These are a sweet and wonderful activity for children of all ages. The perfect Christmas treat…
what you need…
- 150g plain flour
- 25g rice flour
- 100g butter
- 50g caster sugar
- bowl
- rolling pin
- baking tray
- star cutter
- icing pens
- smarties
what you do…
- heat oven to 150c
- add the flour and rice flour to a bowl
- add the butter and rub it into the flour with finger tips until it resembles fine bread crumbs
- stir in the sugar
- knead the mixture into a dough
- on a floured surface roll out the dough and cut star shapes into it
- place star shapes on baking tray
- press smartie down firmly into the centre of each star
- pop in the oven for 8 minutes or until golden brown
- leave to cool
- once cool, decorate with icing
