Most kiddies love a pizza…so why not make one? so quick and easy to do, and even better that they can make it themselves!!! Perfect for a teatime playdate, getting all the kiddies involved…

what you need…

bread muffins

tomato passata

cheese

basil

what to do…

  1. wipe the table and wash hands!!!
  2. then prepare all the ingredients
  3. cut the bread muffins in half
  4. grate the cheese
  5. spread the tomato passata onto the bread muffin
  6. sprinkle the cheese on top and garnish it with basil
  7. put the pizza in the oven for 10 minutes
  8. pizza bambino!!!

then into a little dream adventure…

~find a 10 minute sand timer and time the pizza cooking this helps a child visualise the length of time it takes

~whilst the pizza is cooking, get a map out or a globe, and look up Italy in Europe – talk about the fact that Italy is where pizza originally came from – what other foods come from Italy?

~you can add all sots of combinations to the top of the pizza, why not try mozarella/ham or pepporoni or ham/pineapple…the choice is endless!!! explore…

~talk about the pizza being a ‘whole’ and cutting it in ‘half’ and then into ‘quarters’ – exploring early fractions
