I think Easter Tree’s are one of my favourite things to have decorating the home at Easter time. Bringing nature indoors, with l
ovely blossom branches, and decorating with pastel wooden eggs or decorations of your choice…

what you need…

  • blossom branches or twigs from a tree
  • wooden eggs
  • Easter decorations
  • vase or jug

what to do…

  1. if you are lucky enough to have found some blossom branches, and pop into a large jug or vase, then simply decorate with Easter decorations of your choice, most supermarkets or craft shops sell lovely little wooden pastel decorations that are ideal for this
  2. if you can find some plain branches, it can be quite fun to paint these either white or of pastel colour and then decorate with your wooden Easter decorations

into a little dream adventure…

  • make your own Easter decorations…maybe decorate the tree with your bunting, or blow and paint eggs and then hang from ribbon
  • get your child to draw some ovals on paper, and cut them out, decorating them with patterns in felt tip or crayon and hanging them with ribbon onto the tree
  • make your Easter Tree outside, maybe you have a favourite small tree in the garden you would like to decorate and have your Easter tea party below, with yummy treats and spring posies
  • try making some bunting to decorate your Easter tree, see below!!!

I love bunting, always have done, always will…so if there was ever another occasion to pop the bunting up, maybe it could be this Easter!!! Try this bunting idea for a more vintage tea party feel this Easter.

what you need…

  • ribbon
  • card
  • scissors
  • glue
  • holepunch
  • magazine cuttings

what to do…

  1. cut out several triangles of card, of whatever size you wish
  2. punch two holes at the top two corners of the triangle
  3. thread the ribbon through each triangle and secure a bow at each end
  4. spread glueonto each triangle of card
  5. cover each triangle in magazine cuttings, ripping to make fit if needed
  6. hang up for all to see

into a little dream adventure…

  • this bunting can be decorated in so many different ways for so many different occasions…painted, marbling inks, bubble painting, stickers, fabric, felt tips, you name it the choice in endless and the effect equally as appealing and lovely for a child
  • how many flags would you like for your bunting? maybe your child would like to write ‘Happy Easter’ along the bunting, or ‘Tea Party’ or ‘Easter Hunt’ or quite simply their name if it is for a bedroom wall or door – helping them sound out the letters and writing the letters along each bunting flag
  • think of all the different occasions you may want to decorate your home with bunting, write a list and decide how you would like the bunting to be decorated for each occasion, then when that occasion arrives set to and create your masterpiece… the beginnings of the perfect party planning skills
